What is your favorite thing to eat and drink?

My favorite thing to eat is breakfast food, eggs and such, corned beef hash. Although I rarely eat it. I’m also fond of a room temperature Guinness and a neat Jim Beam.

What are you most proud of about Veritas?

I’m proud of helping to build a restaurant culture that draws people to it. I like that people want to work here.

How did you get started in the restaurant industry? 

When I was 13, my dad told me that if I wanted more spending money, I had to earn it. There was a Lebanese restaurant right down the street from our house.I walked in and took a job as a dishwasher and prep cook. All uphill from there.

What is something unique about you that not many people know? 

I am extraordinarily not unique. That is unique in and of itself.

What is your favorite season for food specials and why?

I love winter because I like making comfort food. Also, because I'm from Marquette and winter always reminds me of home.

What is your favorite thing to eat and drink?

I'm always a fan of rustic homestyle dishes. Fresh protein and vegetables combined with robust sauces and herbs are always a quick way to my heart. I enjoy craft cocktails of all varieties, however I definitely gravitate toward gin.


What are you most proud of about Veritas?

I am always proud of our teamwork and comradery. This is especially true behind the bar where we all really need to communicate and work together to produce nothing but the best for our guests and each other.


How did you get started in the restaurant industry?

Like many young adults, I started at a fast food chain. I then moved to a couple family-style restaurants before graduating to Food Dance in Kalamazoo. There I got my first taste of exceptional food and drink and was able to see how a restaurant flows when people work selflessly. From there I was lucky enough to find Veritas where I continue to work with high quality food and drink and get to flex my creativity behind the bar.


What's something unique about you that not many people know?

I have a degree in music composition from WMU. Music has always been a passion and in my free time I compose and arrange music to play alone, with friends, and for marching ensembles.


What is your favorite season for food specials and why?

Summer is always my favorite time of year for food. My favorite thing specifically is the plethora of fresh vegetables that crop up. Nothing makes food stand out more than when you are using the freshest of ingredients.

Beef Carnitas and Modelo


What are you most proud of about Veritas?

I'm proud of each and every plate I serve. 


How did you get started in the restaurant industry? 

I started as a dishwasher at Vera Mae's in Muncie, Indiana in 2019.


What is something unique about you that not many people know? 

I'm nearly 80% color blind. 


What is your favorite season for food specials and why?

Autumn because farm fresh and locally grown foods remind me of home.
